Battle of The Bands

Pretty interesting concept.

U2/Green Day - Whole Set

I'm not a big football guy - I had no idea they did this. Pretty fucking awesome if you ask me, even if it is corny.

Behringer Announces FireWire PODCASTUDIO Bundle

They are not the first, but I guarantee they will be the best value. Every budget-minded home recording fan's favorite company is off erring a Firewire audio interface with a copy of Ableton Live (PC & Mac), an 8 input mixer, closed-back headphones, a studio mic, & cable. Their MSRP is $269, but it will most likely street for under $200.

Lets Go Detroit!

I say Tigers in 4.

What a way to finish the game tonight. Robbery I tells ya.

We're going to 7

Reyes brought the crowd to its feet when he put the Mets in front with the fourth leadoff home run in the team's playoff history. As soon as the applause quieted some, chants of "Jo-se, Jo-se, Jo-se" replaced it until the shortstop poked his head from the dugout and acknowledged the curtain call. "That was a shot of energy," Wright said.

I missed most of the game 'cause I was working, but man do the Mets know how to make a series interesting.

Game 5 postponed :(

From Newsday.com:

Game 5 of the National League Championship Series between the Mets and the Cardinals has been postponed due to rain. The game will be played on Tuesday.

The final two games, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, are not altered because Tuesday was orginally slated as a travel day.

Tom Glavine will face Jeff Weaver in Game 5.

I swear, if the Mets pull of this championship series, they are going to be in such bad shape to face the red-hot well-rested Tigers. It will take a miracle to pull off a World Series win at this time. Luckily, they are known as the "Amazin's".

Mets Tie Up The Series at 2

Throwing the untested Oliver Perez on the mound, the Mets decided to take an offensive stand since their pitching isn't what it was earlier in the season. Boy did it work! The Mets took game 4 with a 12-5 victory over the Cardinals last night. Delgado and Beltran basically beat the shit out of St. Louis and the series is comming back to NY after tonight's game.

Children's Fair

Today we took the kids to the Children's Fair in Mt. Pleasant, SC after a hearty feast of southwestern flavor from Moe's for lunch. Oddly enough, the fair was free as were all of the attractions. How often do you see that? It was packed, but we managed to have fun anyway.

This has been a busy weekend for the kids.

West Farm of Moncks Corner

Family
Originally uploaded by joel8x.

Today we went to West Farm of Moncks Corner, SC and had some fall family fun. The kids decorated pumpkins, we took a hay ride, ate some BBQ Pork, saw some farm animals, and the kids ran around like the silly geese they are in a maze. All in all a good time and a perfect fall day weather-wise.

New Patio & New Floor

Robert Pollard & Portastatic Put Out New CD's Again!

Robert Pollart has a new CD out called "Normal Happiness" on Merge Records. And, while he's at it, Mac McCaughan from Merge/Superchunk/Portastatic fame has also put out a new Portastatic CD this week called "Be Still Please". It seems Mac and the Merge company have been busy this year indeed!

Both recordings are on the front page of the iTunes Store's Alternative section. You can also stream them from the Merge Records website.

Mets Take Game 1

It was a pretty boring game up unitl the bottom of the 6th when a 2 run homer by Beltran gave the Mets the only runs in the game. The Mets closed out the game with some amazing defense. Game 2 is set for tomorrow.

I hope the Mets can beat the Tigers if(when) it comes down to it- they are on fire right now as well.

No fall classic, just classic fall

DETROIT -- Finishing like this has become far too typical, far too normal for the Yankees. Another season ended Saturday in failure, as Derek Jeter put it: It's another year without a championship.

And the way this season fell apart -- with the Yankees' high-powered, high-priced offense going limp in the playoffs -- left everyone here scratching their heads in disbelief.

BwaaaHAHAHA.

Watching the Mets put the finishing touches on what should be the clincher tonight. 9-5 in the top of the 8th.
